Bathroom skylight remodeling

In this project, the homeowner wants to enlarge two bathrooms. In order to do this we'll demolish the skylight that runs across both floors. It's a common structural element used alot in the 50's. Today it's also a popular design element and a source of natural lighting. But here, increasing the space is the main priority and we have limited options to do this. We explored the options of keeping the skylight and reconfiguring the interior. But after this the plan remained to remove it and maximize the air pocket and gain more space.
