Safety concerns

Having a home that's connected is like a dream come true. With a phone device, from a distance, it allows you to program heating and cooling, lighting, security system, washer and dryer, blinds, electronics like your fireplace, television, coffee machine, etc. This is something that appeals to tech savyy people, professionals, families and business owners, especially if you live in urban areas.

It doesn't mean there's a higher chance of things catching on fire. Still there are people out there who would rather live off the grid and practice slow-living. Being connected all the time has many advantages. It's important to adapt and stay informed. But when it gets too heavy, take some leave some, disconnect when you need to and take action if you see it starting to control your life. This type of lifestyle creates greater demand and depency on electricity and Wi-Fi technology. It's not for everyone.
