It's the most wonderful time of the year !

Everything about it is exciting ! Shopping for gifts, travelling to be with loved ones, drinking eggnog, listening to holiday playlists, sitting cozy by the fireplace, going away for a vacation, cookies and milk for Santa Clause.

There are lots of ways to make this season unforgettable. From easy crowd-pleasing recipes to impressive dishes, a stunning table presentation and a festive decor. Preparing can be a little challenging but the best part is when guests arrive and are having a good time.

Cost of renovations
Hosting dinner is a blessing and one of the best things about the holidays.

The table

Family and friends often come together around a good meal. When you're hosting the best thing you can do is planning ahead. When you know what to expect it's easier to adjust to any last-minute changes. If you have helpers or little elves, it will be fun ! If you're doing everything alone, keep it simple.

The must-haves items on a table are candles, some greenery, dinnerware and silverware, some wine or fruit punch, a main dish (a show-stopper) and a few decor pieces.

Gift wrapping

It's always a good thing when you catch the spirit of giving ! You made a list and checked it twice. You carefully removed the price tags and you asked at the cash for a gift receipt just in case someone needs an exchange.

There are no shortcuts to get it done, you have to roll up your sleeves and get started. You can use the same labels or wrapping paper, especially if there will be a big crowd. For a polished look, add a classic red ribbon.

Choosing a theme

The theme here, is actually, winter. The only difference is, for the holidays you want to create a more festive mood. It's a time to spread good cheer, to be grateful for many things and to look forward to the new year. You can apply a decor according to a color theme, pattern or Christmas movie character.

Holiday trends are everywhere ! In news broadcasts, daytime television, on the internet and on newsstands. You can walk into party decor boutiques or watch holiday edition episodes on HGTV. They're here to make your life easier with good deals, the best ideas and product suggestions.
